I discovered my passion for DIY projects back in 2017. Despite studying Business and Computing Science and working in the IT industry for years, I had yet to uncover my creative side. When my then-boyfriend, now-husband, asked me to make a candle for him since he enjoyed having one burning while working on his computer, I gladly took on the task.

After days of researching candle making, I decided to create something functional yet enjoyable to burn. The idea of a cactus and succulent candle struck me, inspired by the plants scattered in every corner of my room. At that time, it was just an idea in my head, as I had never seen anything like it on the internet before. When I shared my first creation with friends and family, the heartening feedback fueled my passion.

Fast forward a few years, I left my full-time job, started a candle business from my basement, and later moved into a warehouse. Leading an all-women small team (except for my husband, who always helps out unconditionally), I now do what I enjoy the most - crafting candles that are both beautiful and meaningful. Driven by a desire for craftsmanship and artisan distinction, ZOET Studio came to life. What began as a labor of love quickly blossomed into a genuine passion and, ultimately, a small business.

At ZOET Studio, we take pride in handcrafting each and every candle with meticulous care and attention to detail. Our candles are thoughtfully made using primarily soy wax, known for its natural and clean-burning properties. To enhance the structure of our exquisite designs, we incorporate Canada-sourced beeswax and food-grade, highly refined paraffin wax into selected styles. We are committed to using lead-free cotton or hemp wicks and premium fragrance oils that are free from phthalates, ensuring a safe and enjoyable candle experience.
